Pearl Lotus Syren by Lacy Sunshine

Happy New Year's Eve!!!

Today is the start of a new challenge at

Creative Knockouts

 Challenge: All Things New

I am sharing a NEW TECHNIQUE using

Pearl Lotus Syren 

 Using my Copic markers- I colored the background.  I wanted to give the illusion of a 

sunset and the water...then blended them.  Since Copic's are alcohol based- I used 

a some rubbing alcohol from my medicine cabinet and some Q-Tips to "pick up" some

ink.  It is very simple and effective- just dab as much or as little of the tip in the alcohol and dab it

on the paper...play around and see what works for you.

 I also added some Glossy accents in the water and the globe in her hand- Love how this effect

looks.  Gives a lot of texture and depth. Another NEW thing on this card is my embossing folder.

 I made a birthday card for my sister with this cutie.  She is a Starbuck's girl- Chai Tea 

everyday!!!  So this was just perfect.

 This was a challenge to work with- and that is why I wanted to color her.  I love her

hair and eyes.  I thought she would be perfect in a Steampunk style.  I even

and a little monochromatic too.

 I used lots of layers- and did a twist on a gate card.

 I love this image...it can be used in so many settings.  I really wanted to make

these birds into Christmas Cardinal's.  They are so cute, singing their little hearts out!

I highlighted the image with black stones and also bordered the lace with the same

black stones...just made this pop.

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday!

It is my turn to host over at the Artbymiran Showcase Blog.

I am sharing Star Light with you today.

 I have created an 8x8 canvas...I was a little worried how to approach this task...then decided to make 

a card design, of sorts.  I used some background, layering paper on the gold canvas...then

placed the image where I wanted it.  As with a card, I added a bow, and a sentiment and some embellishments.

 I had to go on to Pinterest to find out how to make this bow... and I am very pleased with the outcome.

My 6x6 card started with silver cardstock base- then I added an awesome overlay
from The Paper Temptress.  I loved the forest green cardstock as an accent and used
it for some fancy corner dies too.  The finishing touch are the pearls- classic look.

For the snow effect- I used a product by Decoart called Snow-Tex.
